JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: CAD Technician I
SUPERVISOR: Sr. Engineer
GENERAL PURPOSE: Work as a valued member of the Aladdin operations. This job will primarily consist of entering data into the CAD operating system for the proposal stage and finalization of working drawings for fabrication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce the finalized working drawing for site use and shop use.
- Performs administrative office duties as needed to include, but not limited to:
- Answers phones
- Filing
- Order entry
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing and able to learn new products, concepts and techniques. The individual must be an organized team player able to work in a deadline driven fast paced environment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: HS Graduate or equivalent technical school education. An advanced degree is a plus or, any combination of education and experience. CAD software experience is required and Solidworks is a plus due to the basis of Aladdin’s CAD operating system. Experience in HVAC application and design a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Experience using computer applications including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat (PDF’s).
REASONING ABILITY: Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools. (Rulers, tapes, etc.) Position requires qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem solving skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable. Employee works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is not usually loud.
