The Company is at an exciting growth phase of the business and is seeking to hire a highly motivated and experienced Bookkeeper/Office Manager to oversee office activities in the Nashua, NH facility, while also managing US-based accounting activities across two manufacturing facilities (NH & CA), and preparing reports for US and Sydney Executives.
Objective:
The Bookkeeper/Office Manager is responsible for all Accounts Receivable and Account Payable. Maintains a month-end schedule to ensure close deadlines are met. Perform month-end close activities, including reconciling inventory, labor, material, inventory reserves, and inventory absorption. Reconciliation of all AP and AR accounts, preparation of expense allocations, identification, and processing of operating and recurring COGS accruals. Prepare and manage accrual schedules to ensure accurate financial closes each month, including tie-out of sub-ledger, AP and AR reports, and monthly expenditure analysis.
Principal areas/functions:
80% Bookkeeping:
- Responsible for financial entering functions, including AR, AP
- Responsible for timely and accurate bank deposits and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner, including operating and petty cash accounts
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions
- Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Ensure all files are updated and secure
- Month-end close of General Ledger:
- Month-end close, reconcile AR to the GL
- Reconcile finished goods inventories
- Oversee the excess and obsolete inventories
20% Office Management:
- Answers telecommunications systems for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, and/or taking messages
- Purchasing office supplies and shipping materials
- Other responsibilities as assigned i.e. filing, mail, reception desk back-up coverage, etc.
Background/Skills:
- Associates degree (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, experience using XERO (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly dynamic “start-up” environment.
- Ability to integrate within an organization across multiple functional departments (both in the US and Globally). Strong team player.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good communication skills (both oral and written) are required
Additional Input:
The position is to be based out of BluGlass, Inc, a Laser Diode Manufacturing, Test & Reliability facility located in Nashua, NH. Aspects of this position must meet Export Control compliance requirements. Therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, and refugee; asylee is preferred.
