Bonding Clerk - Sheriff's Office Job at Fort Bend County
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities:
- Provides information and public relations between the Sheriff’s Office and the community.
- Serves as intermediary between bonding companies, the public and inmate families.
- Independently assists customers in a professional manner and provide information and process requests in person, on the telephone, electronic submissions and through the mail.
- Maintains and provides confidentiality and security of documents, files, and data.
- Examines, verifies and inputs data into the Sheriff’s Office computer system to update information regarding pending and disposed criminal cases, using detailed data entry codes.
- Prepares magistrate documents for County and District Court Judges.
- Logs, records and files bonds, court documents financial transactions.
- Verifies, prepares, processes, logs and files bonds. Distributes processed bonds to appropriate offices.
- Calculates, collects, receipts and processes cash fines, bonds and statutory fees.
- Accurately processes, maintains and records court documents/dispositions, received from Federal, District, County, Attorney General, Municipal and Justice of the Peace courts as mandated by the law under strict timelines.
- Verifies process and distributes documents to appropriate locations.
- Gathers information from booking, courthouse, electronic submissions, and other agencies to prepare and process the proper and timely release or transfer of incarcerated persons.
- Notarizes documents for department and outside agencies, as needed.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
SALARY RANGE: $15.00 per hour
