    Qualifications:
    Have a good command of the English language and be able to express himself/herself clearly in writing and orally. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

    Demonstrate a working knowledge of technology software including Microsoft Suite, PowerSchool, Google, Google Forms, and PDF Management.

    Possess solid keyboarding skills necessary for the input of computer data.

    Be able to operate a computer and assure accuracy of original entry data to produce the desired output including various reports and checks.

    Conduct communication with others as needed in an efficient and positive manner.

    Have experience working with at-risk students and families.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • The major responsibilities of this position involve planning and processing the communications and related organizational tasks associated with the Pre-K Department and Birth to Three Program.
    • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
    • Update and process daily attendance, mailings, summer welcome packets, beginning of the year packets, and informational fliers.
    • Process registration, create, obtain, and maintain student files, attendance, and computer records.
    • Greet all students and parents, determine needs and direct them as necessary.
    • Answer incoming calls, take and deliver messages, and assist with calls to parents.
    • Assist with ISBE monitoring paperwork.
    • Carry out McKinney Vento processes and procedures.
    • Assist with the organization of family engagement activities.
    • Schedule and keep records of Pre-K appointments and meetings; organize screenings; and maintain a calendar of school activities.
    • Communicate transition procedures to Pre-K coordinator when a child is exiting from B3 to Pre-K.
    • Assists with before and after school transportation, bus routes, and bus tags.
    • Compile class lists for emergency folders with emergency contacts.
    • Collect and distribute supply orders, time sheets and other documentation to proper school district personnel.
    • Organize field trips including payments, permission slips, and chaperones.
    • Organize and schedule substitutes for the preschool program.
    • Operate office machines as required.
    • Perform other duties which may be assigned.

    Physical Demands:
    • Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees of the district.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in either written, diagram or oral form.
    • Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
    • Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
    • May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
    • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.



    Work Schedule: Full-time position, 12 months, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
