General Description
The Swine Production Trainer will be responsible for educating and coordinating internal and external trainings to those directly and indirectly involved with swine facilities owned and managed by Summit Agricultural Group.
Key Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and conducting of annual trainings, as well as monitoring and ensuring certification date expirations

• Supervisors
• Contract Labor

• Work alongside our integrators, contractors, and staff to outline and ensure proper animal well-being and animal health standards are upheld and report any incidents that occur. This includes but not limited to
• Feed
• Water
• Proper ventilation
• Fans, curtains, heaters
• Timely euthanasia
• Medications and vaccines
• Record keeping
• Animal handling
• Bio-security

• Establish and maintain relationships with integrators, contractors, and caretakers and provide feedback regarding assigned sites
• Partner with production supervisors to identify areas of opportunity regarding bio-security and animal production while identifying ways to implement new and ongoing processes throughout the company
• Develop and train on site visit reports to provide solutions and feedback to the company and caretakers
• Adhere to bio-security policies and procedures and report any violations
• Train and develop caretakers and continually update with new trainings or changes in the system
• Maintain a veterinarian/client/patient relationship with the integrators veterinarians and adhere to their guidelines regarding animal health and improvement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with employees of our integrators
• Uphold confidentiality of information and records
• Other duties assigned by Manager

Skills and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of bio-security and animal handling best practices
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively manage one’s time and the time of others in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter who is detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to operate with a high level of confidentiality
• Follow safety protocols and policies
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to run report and enter data
• Strong positive customer service skills

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record
• Strong understanding of swine facility operations
• 3+ years in swine production
• English required
• Bilingual, preferred

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 50+ pounds
• Climb over gates
• Repetitive pushing, pulling, bending, and kneeling
• Regularly walk and stand on different surfaces for an extended period of time
• Regularly drive for long period of time to cover the geographical area of Summit Agricultural Group’s swine facilities
