Location

The position is located at the Company headquarters in Vienna, Ohio.

Reporting Relationships

The Human Resource Generalist will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and work closely with the SBU General Managers, Leadership Team and SBU and Plant Level Operations Teams to ensure the proper talent acquisition, employee retention and human resources programs and infrastructure are in place to support the Company objectives, mission and values.

This includes ensuring the Company and its Strategic Business Units are attracting talented Team members, staffing SBU operations proactively and timely and providing an employee oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes customer service, safety, quality, productivity, standards and goal attainment.

They must also respect what has been accomplished at the Company and can learn and add their own value and knowledge to further develop people strategies to recruit, train, develop and retain World Class Associates for the Strategic Business Unit and assist in its growth plan and in achieving profitability goals and value creation efforts.

The ability to attract, develop and train high performance Team members and work extremely well with others and inspire trust will be critical to the success of this role.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the human resources function at the SBU level to ensure the proper recruitment, training, development and retention of a World Class Team and infrastructure to support the Company, the SBU and its value creation objectives, mission and values.
  • Working with SBU Sales Director, General Managers, Plant Managers to plan and execute recruiting and talent acquisition efforts across the SBU as needed.
  • Manages, communicates, and conducts behavior in direct support of company foundation and pillars.
  • This includes but is not limited to recruiting, onboarding, administration, positive employee relations, training, employee retention programs, benefits development and administration, compliance administration and performance management.
  • Oversee electronic job posting systems, both internal and external
  • Manage all hiring platforms.
  • Maintains company HRIS systems (ADP) and record retention requirements.
  • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HR services users
  • Identify, analyze and resolve issues within the HRIS system and implement the changes across the organization.
  • Maintain company job description library and job classifications in accordance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Recruit, interview, screen and conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications on potential candidates. Provide feedback to managers regarding potential candidates.
  • Review, track, document and maintain training records and compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include compliance matters, safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Understand and maintain compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices and review policies and practices to mitigate risk regarding it.
  • Runs monthly, quarterly and annual Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Department of Labor (DOL), and EEOC reports, including the multi-worksite report (MWR) and EEO-1.
  • Assists with application and administration of company leaves of absence practices, including FMLA and maintains federal and state compliance.
  • Assists with the designing, planning and administration of corporate benefit programs, including health, wellness, 401K, and Workers Compensation.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required.
  • Five or more years of experience in human resources with demonstrated competence in recruiting and fulfilling open roles for previous companies.
  • SHRM – CP certification and membership or PHR certification is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • ADP experience a plus
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
