The Project Manager will be working with the management team towards successful execution of a range of audio/visual projects. The PM is responsible for all phases of events including cost and budgetary considerations, implementation and post-project follow-up. The Project Manager will determine all technical requirements for scope of a project: including logistics, scheduling, power and rigging requirements, site requirements, room drawings (CAD), as needed.
The PM will work with the management team in the planning and scheduling of qualified technicians, as needed, for each project, including projects with multiple functions and site locations. The Project Manager will also coordinate, well in advance, the scheduling, and often attending, site surveys as determined by individual projects.

Summary
Manage all aspects of the projects assigned to you by the General Manager/Sr PM
Corporate Structure
- The Project Manager reports directly to the Sr PM or General Manager.
- All field technicians report directly to the Project Manager responsible for the project you are managing.
Authority
- The Project Manager can recommend hiring, firing, and discipline of employees working on their projects to the Sr PM or General Manager.
- The Project Manager can request overtime hours needed to complete a project within the project schedule.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring design is complete for all phases of the project before resources are scheduled or product is ordered.
- Review of the Engineering Drawings prior to pre-wire
- Identifying any design gaps and/or necessary changes.
- Planning and Defining Job Scope
- Resource Planning
- Develop and Maintain Schedules
- Time Estimating for employees and subcontractors
- Monitor and manage subcontractors on projects
- Management of multiple simultaneous projects.
- Overall coordination of project from start to finish.
- Coordination with owner, builder, architect, lighting designer, electrician, etc...
- Ensuring equipment has been ordered and ready for installation based on project schedule.
- Communicate changes to design and sales for input into change order Log and D-Tools.
- Scheduling resources to ensure they are available when needed on the path to project completion.
- Scheduling installation teams based not only on current job requirements but also with an eye towards the training of installation technicians.
- Recommending specific training for installation technicians to the General Manager
- Ensuring programming staff is ready with appropriate scope when programming is to commence based on scope document from sales.
- Ensuring that the technicians on site are following all required safety guidelines.
- Completion of testing and inspecting final system before handing off to a new client.
- Notify sales staff and coordinate handoff of projects to the service department.
- Ensuring that promised functionality has been delivered to client.
- Client Training with Programmer.
- Measuring budget vs. actual and identifying budget overruns (if any).
- Completing project within defined timeline. Identifying project delays and adjusting/scheduling accordingly.
- Ensuring As-Build documentation is complete and turned into Engineering to be captured electronically.
- Oversee, coach and mentor Lead Technician (Primary) and Technician (Secondary).
- Discipline Lead Technicians and Technicians as necessary in accordance with the company employment manual.
- Research & coordinate 3rd party system integration (3rd party R&D) if necessary.
- Active participation in weekly scheduling meeting with project updates and resource requirements for upcoming week(s).
- Handling project emergencies as they arise.
- Finishing project to Definitive Electronics standards (Fit/Finish).
- Ensuring work environment is kept neat and clean – daily cleanup as required.
- Understanding the overall project goals.
- Updating client on progress and system operation at the end of each day as necessary.
- Asking for help if something will prevent you from being successful.
- Keeping Sr PM/GM updated on needs and changes as they arise.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience with a company specializing in the audio/visual industry.
- Proficient in AutoCad and/or similar rendering software.
- Strong knowledge of video, audio, lighting and scenic elements.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Professional presentation.
- Must have excellent communication, customer service, and people skills.
- Must be able to multitasking in a busy environment.
- The ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams
- Plus if familiar with Dtools
- Exposure to Crestron, Lutron, Vantage, and Control4 (need to understand control systems and lighting control systems)
Work Environment/Travel
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Travel is required in this position and varies depending on location and client schedules.
- There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, climb ladders and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
Compensation
- $90-100K
