Poseida Therapeutics is seeking a talented Scientist to join our Translational Medicine and Clinical Biomarkers team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to innovative clinical trials for new CAR-T and gene therapy products in a dynamic environment focused on cutting-edge gene editing technology. Primarily, the role will be responsible for providing scientific support to our clinical programs. We are seeking a well-trained scientist who is inspired to develop robust assays, methods, and analytical strategies to study the mechanisms whereby our clinical products improve the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:

• Work independently to conduct pilot/proof-of-concept experiments and to develop or improve molecular biology and cellular/immunological assays for use in our clinical trials
• Interface with Pre-Clinical R&D, Process Development, Statistical and Data Sciences, and Clinical Biomarkers in cross-functional efforts to characterize our clinical products and discover associated biomarkers
• Support the transfer of, manage the execution of, and analyze data from exploratory biomarker assays conducted by external contractors
• Support the preparation of data packages and clinical documents for publication, presentation and/or submission to regulatory agencies
• Hands-on, laboratory-based role with opportunities to manage assays performed by external contractors

Requirements: Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• BS/MS with 8 plus years or PhD or equivalent in immunology, molecular biology, oncology, or related field, with 0 plus years of laboratory experience is required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). Prior experience in an industry setting is desirable but not required for this position.
• Proficient experimentalist with demonstrated ability to independently plan, execute, analyze, interpret, and communicate data and results to cross-disciplinary teams.
• Expertise in multi-parameter flow cytometry and immunoassays (ELISA, ELISpot, Luminex, MSD, etc) is required. Experience pathology/immunohistochemistry, and mammalian cell culture is recommended.
• Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR (ddPCR, qPCR) is required. Familiarity with next-gen/single-cell sequencing methods and analysis as well as and gene-editing techniques (e.g. CRISPR, TALENs) is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc) is required. Experience in scientific software applications such as FlowJo, BD FACSDiva, GraphPad Prism, JMP, or Spotfire are requested. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated practical experience analyzing Big Data.
• Strong drive to learn and implement diverse methodologies and a working knowledge of immunology and oncology is required.
• Ideal candidates are self-motivated and ambitious with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
