Assistant Vice President, Member Relations (Remote) Job at Independent Community Bankers of America
Summary
The AVP, Member Relations will work in conjunction with specific Member Relations Officers (MROs) to maintain or exceed community bank recruitment and revenue goals in a defined territory. This role will also focus on outreach and engagement with both member & nonmember banks to discuss the ICBA value proposition in their respective territory. Candidates must be willing to work eastern time zone hours.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be a teambuilder with all ICBA stakeholders.
- Engage the C-suite at member and nonmember banks to articulate ICBA value proposition and
identify product, service, and educational programs in alignment with the banks’ operational needs and growth strategies - planned and coordinated with the EVP of Member Relations and the MROs.
- In conjunction with the MRO team, creates targeted calling/follow-up to email campaigns with staff at member banks to engage them with member benefits, products, CBU training, and other ICBA products and resources.
- Conducts balance sheet and operational conversations with nonmembers & members. The intention is to generate business opportunities and leads for ICBA and our partners, illustrate value in membership and to assist banks in achieving their business objectives.
- Helps execute separate campaigns and tailored outreach to C-suite or mid-level employees targeted to specific bank operational areas, eie: risk/compliance/training,
deposit/operations/marketing, lending/operations/compliance, etc., with a predetermined suite of
ICBA products and resources to match needs in the aforementioned areas. All of these will be in
done in conjunction with the EVP and the MROs.
- Facilitates monthly “Member Benefits” and other webinars as necessary.
- Offer product trials as a sales/closing tool in assigned territories.
- Partner with Member Relationship Officers, to provide superb customer service.
- Prepare accurate and timely pre-sales & post sales correspondence.
- Attend training, some trade shows, sales meetings, and team meetings as directed.
- Build relationships and rapport with all areas of ICBA, including our state partners, and PSPs.
- Support coordinated target marketing efforts and direct mail pitches.
- Respond to website requests for membership, products, and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferred.
- 5 + years of inside sales/telesales or account management experience, preferred.
- Excellent presentation, oral & written communication skills
- Highly motivated with the ability to interact with customer at all levels.
- Strong functional knowledge of standard business applications such as MS Outlook, Word and
- PowerPoint. Proficient or advanced MS Excel skills.
- CRM experience required.
- Experience developing and implementing a strategic plan for the territory.
- Experience reporting accurate pipeline and forecasting data to sales management.
- Ability to travel on an occasional basis to annual sales meetings, trade shows or conferences.
