Assistant Program Director Job at Listening Ear Crisis Center
Position: Full-time
Location: Harrison, Michigan
Reports to: Program Director
Supervises: Direct Care Staff of AFC Home
Wage: $15.85/hour ($12.25 base pay + $2.35 non-positive COVID pay + $1.25 premium pay)

Description: We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities as an Assistant Program Director.
Responsibilities:
- Be a positive role model for consumers and staff in all facets of responsible daily living skills and will develop appropriate relationships
- Assist in meal preparation, clean-up, client hygiene, recreation and all other facets involving consumer programming
- Assist in design of in-home programs to motivate, instruct, and assess consumers' personal growth in the development and maintenance of independent behaviors based on the consumers person-centered plan
- Provide activities or programs for consumers when they are home
- Promote safe living conditions for consumers and staff
- Conduct proper documentation of necessary forms for all incidents pertaining to home operations on the following areas: consumer/visitor movement to or from the home, unusual incidents involving clients, staff, or other persons affecting the home, seizures, medical emergencies, and noticeable changes in resident’s conduct, either positive or negative, in the daily log
- Routinely supervise and take care of all daily maintenance of the home, grounds, and vehicle
- Participating and maintain a safe workplace and ensuring that staff follows agency policies and procedures
- Act on behalf of the Program Director in their absence
- All other duties as assigned by Program Director
Skills Needed for Success:
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Be a positive, compassionate, and kind person
- Able to work non-traditional work hours, including weekends
Requirements:
- 2 years of college (60 credits) or High School Diploma
- 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities (required)
- Good physical health (regular lifting of 50lbs)
- Must pass all necessary training (provided by Listening Ear) and exams required, including criminal background check
- Michigan Driver’s License
