Hours: Mon-Fri. 7am- 12:30pm
The daycare assistant is required:
· HSD (GED) and experience working in a licensed daycare
· Provide a loving, Christian, stimulating, nurturing and safe environment for the children Ability to run after children as needed.
· Lift up to 30 pounds
· Bend. Twist, sit on the floor, squat
· Assist teacher implement activities that build self-esteem, foster independence, and help children develop their creativity, focusing on the “process” not the “product”.
· Develop skills that work in our team environment
· Assist teacher in diapering, using the procedures required by the State and Brookwood Academy
· Assist teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate practices for children that attend the daycare
· Continue lifestyle choices that are both Godly and above reproach
· Willingly submit to accountability standards set by Brookwood Academy
· Obtain 15 CEU’s in early childhood education each year
· Always maintain professionalism
· Refrain from using personal cell phone while watching the children
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Teacher is required to:
· Consistently and regularly attend work as scheduled
· Maintain policies and procedures stated in the employee handbook
· Assist lead teacher in implementing planned curriculum for children that attend our daycare
· Attend “team” building meetings
· Assist lead teacher in the safety and well-being of children
· Assist in maintain a clean and comfortable environment reflective of the needs of the children.
Previous licensed daycare experience required. Current DSS background check, central registry, health assessment and TB Test preferred but not required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
