Animal Shelter Attendant (Part Time) Job at Wythe County Virginia
Wythe County is seeking a part-time animal shelter attendant to lead care, feeding, sanitation, customer service and adoption of dogs in the shelter’s care. The shelter attendant works part-time with county animal control & code enforcement officers to provide animal care, facility custodial and sanitation duties, record keeping and customer service, along with posting adoption information and availability on social media.
Work is usually scheduled in the mornings at the direction of the animal control supervisor. Must be able to work independently to provide the best possible care and placement for dogs. This position may lead to later full-time employment as an animal control officer for qualified individuals.
Position is part-time with hourly pay, up to 28 hours per week, with starting pay based on experience and aptitude. Special conditions: May not have been charged or convicted of animal cruelty, neglect or related offenses; must show proof of or be able to receive rabies and Hepatitis B vaccine and others as needed.
