       - Experience working as an administrative assistant in a business or professional office.
- Experience working as an administrative assistant at Texas State University.
- Experience using web content management systems, specifically GATO/Calico.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish).
        Job Description
       
 
       
        The Administrative Assistant II is a valuable member of the First-Year Advising team. The Administrative Assistant II will train and supervise student employees, assist the director in the daily operations of the advising center, and oversee the advising center front desk and call center to provide an exceptional experience for students.
       
 
      
        Job Duties
       
 
       - Greet, screen, and route visitors in a courteous manner
- Answer telephone, screen, and transfer calls, take messages and refer to other offices as appropriate
- Accurately schedule and prepare students for academic advising appointments
- Provide general information about the First-Year Advising and our services
- Check, distribute, and respond to incoming mail or emails received in the general Advising Center email account
- Maintain staff calendars using office scheduling software and Outlook
- Hire, train, and supervise student employees
- Compile and prepare reports and statistics
- Attend and assist with special events
- Attend staff and campus meetings/events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
