St. Patrick’s Manor is a Faith-Based, nonprofit, short-term and long-term care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters. We are seeking to fill the position of Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment - Full and Part-Time.

** Full-Time = Monday - Friday; Part-Time = WEEKENDS **

Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Job Summary:

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing the activities programs of the facility.
• Coordinates activities with other departments as necessary.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
• Assist the Activity Director with preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident.
• Review assessments as necessary, but at least quarterly.
• Develop and maintain a good rapport with all the services involved with the care plan.
• Participate in resident council meetings and provides support services to such council.
• Assist in scheduling movies, planning parties, and providing games/activities for residents.
• Encourage social communication among residents through group activities and recreation.
• Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts; provide materials as necessary.
• Assists in the transportation of residents to activities.

Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Qualifications:

• High school graduate with some college course work in therapeutic recreation or gerontology preferred.
• Knowledge of arts and crafts.
• Proof of COVID19 Vaccination AND BOOSTER Required.
• Recent experience in recreation; preferably in a geriatric setting.
• Must be able to speak, write and understand English.
• Working conditions consist of bending, standing, sitting, lifting and moving intermittently during working hours.
• Must assist in the evacuation of residents as necessary.
• Subject to long periods of standing.
• Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
