General Summary
The Accreditation Coordinator reports directly to the Provost/CAO for the American InterContinental University System. This person will be responsible for assisting with all activities related to institutional and programmatic accreditation; will support day to day operations related to maintaining the criteria for accreditation and assumed practices and standards for programmatic accreditation. Will coordinate all aspects of the process for accreditation visits, including but not limited to assisting with scheduling visits, working with various teams at the System in preparing materials, gathering evidence, providing administrative support for visit meetings, editing self-study reports, maintaining records, and responding to inquiries. Another key area of responsibility is that this person will assist the Provost and Deans on an on-going basis with other System related academic activities and projects related to compliance, meeting academic standards and other regulatory guidelines.
The Accreditation Coordinator must have a strong understanding of the standards used by accrediting agencies for the System. They must know how these standards apply to specific situations and scenarios so that they can assist with making informed decisions in the writing of reports or gathering evidence. The person will be a strong writer with extensive skills with editing and preparing documents.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Educate staff and faculty regarding HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation and Assumed Practices; standards for program accreditation for the various programs
- Coordinate the writing of key documenter for institutional reports, self-studies among multiple contributors. Provide directions to the writers on what is required
- Assist Provost and Deans with creating annual and other reports and manage any issues or concerns that may have arisen during the process
- Contributes extensively to the editing and preparation of reports for submissions
- Maintain all accreditation related documents and manage access permissions for the same. Develop and maintain a comprehensive collection and cataloging process for all accreditation documentation and compliance reporting
- Develop and maintain a System-wide calendar of all accreditation requirements/deadlines to ensure compliance and follow up on projects related to the same
- Manage visit preparation for all accreditation visits and ensure staff and faculty are ready for the same
- Coordinate schedules for visits and ensures that all visit team requirements are met
- Schedule and conduct information sessions and mock visits
- Assist with additional accreditation initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Required
- Master’s degree
- 5-7 years as administrator in higher education
- Experience with HLC and programmatic accrediting bodies
- Power user of MS Word, Excel, PPT, Visio
Education & Experience: Preferred
- Experience in the proprietary education sphere
- Experience with academic and scholarly writing and publishing

- Excellent project management skills, with attention to meeting deadlines
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
