The Role:
Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the tactical execution of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, with a focus on continuous improvement to both the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports. This position reports directly to the Controller and interacts with all departments, staff, as well as external clients and vendors.
What You'll Do:
You'll have opportunities to:
  • Organize, review, and directly contribute to all periodic accounting close activities necessary for the preparation of financial statements and management reports, including account reconciliations.
  • Under the supervision of the Controller, deliver crucial and time-sensitive information for internal management and parent-company reporting
  • Collaborate across departments to implement process improvements necessary to streamline and scale operations, increase accuracy, and respond to changing needs.
  • Provide monthly variance analysis to ensure management is apprised of unique transactions, trends (both positive and negative), and potential business drives that may be impacting financial results.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support year-end audits and ongoing testing.
  • Prepare business compliance and sales tax compliance reporting for various local and state government agencies. Previous experience with Avalara preferred.
  • Document and review the organization’s business and financial controls, proposing steps to resolution for any control improvements.
  • Coordinate with the Fully Europe team to establish and oversee necessary accounting procedures, close activities, financial reporting objectives, and inter-company journal entries.
  • Assist the Controller with technical accounting issues by providing research and conducting special projects on an adhoc basis.
Does This Sound Like You?
This might be you if you have the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated team leadership responsibilities a plus.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Fundamental and technical understanding of GAAP standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance, prioritize and manage multiple tasks of differing priorities and deadlines.
  • Technical proficiency in complex accounting systems, Excel, and cloud-based software.
  • E-commerce, SOX and inventory costing experience preferred.
