Position Summary:
Maintains and balances daily Sub-System accounting transactions for the Accounts Receivable and bi-weekly payroll modules. Monthly invoices are researched and prepared according to State and Local contracts. Cash receipts are balanced and deposited timely. Annual fixed asset tracking, inventory, and retirements.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, but not required.

Qualifying Requirements: Minimum of three (3) year's professional experience with automated accounting systems, Microsoft office, and data entry.

Position Duties:

  • Maintains and balances daily sub-system Accounts Receivable transactions for services and payments.
  • Verifies and posts transactions timely in client services and general ledger modules.
  • Reviews and compiles monthly invoices for State and Local Funders’ according to contract terms.
  • Responsible for accurate bi-weekly payroll, taxes, and retirement fund.
  • Enters timesheets, processes payroll and distributes paychecks, verifies payroll reports for accuracy and reasonableness, and posts transactions to General ledger, support all employees on payroll issues.
  • Processes Quarterly tax forms and year-end W2’s.
  • Assists CFO in preparation for month-end and year-end audits.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Provides backup to Acct Asst for Accounts Payable.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Prepares, reviews and balances cash receipts for timely bank deposits.
  • Confirms and monitors fixed asset inventory annually
  • Retires assets no longer in use.
  • Supports HR dept with employee data and reports for payroll purposes.
  • Supports MIS dept with client financial data and monthly billing reports.
  • Maintains inter-and intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, implementing changes.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Ad hoc reports and other duties as assigned.
