The Youth Development Center Teaching Assistant provides care for infants, toddlers, or preschool children in a licensed child care (daycare) & preschool center environment.

• Be a role model for children ages 0-5.
• Assist in curriculum facilitation as instructed by classroom Teacher.
• Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for preschool children. Prepare learning materials and assist children with projects.
• Assist with family-style breakfast, lunch and snacks.
• Guide children in development of age-appropriate skills.
• Assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures.
• Use appropriate disciplinary methods.
• Observe children and effectively communicate observations to Teachers and parents.
• Attend and be an active participant at staff meetings.

Shifts Available, Monday-Friday:
Full Time (36-40 Hrs per Week), Full Benefits Eligible:

• 8:00 am-5:00 pm
• 9:00 am-6:00 pm

Tier 1 Part Time (30-35 Hrs per Week), Partial Benefits Eligible:

• 10:30 am-6:00 pm

We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Previous experience working in an early childhood setting preferred. Must have the ability to handle competing demands and take direction from the Teacher. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with parents and Teacher regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc. CPR & First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training courses must be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA.
The YMCA Youth Development Centers are high-quality, values-oriented, state-licensed childcare and pre-school education facility for children ages newborn to elementary with a safe atmosphere and a caring staff.
