The Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist I will work Per Diem, Various Shifts and Weekends under the leadership of the Supervisor of Medical Imaging and working at the direction of the Radiology Manager, provides prompt, efficient, courteous services to patients while taking high-quality radiographs. This individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. They must also have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide the care needed.

The Diagnostic X-Ray Technologists I provides high-quality test results in a prompt and accurate fashion.

• Provide a safe environment for our patients.
• The Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist maintains an adequate level of inventory in all rooms within Diagnostic Radiology.
• Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• The Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist attends the necessary meetings to keep up with changes within the department.

Education/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED Satisfactory.
• Completion of formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school.

Experience:

• New Graduates accepted.

Licensure/Certificates:

• NYS Temporary Permit/license.
• ARRT Registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire.
• NYS Registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire.

Skills:

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, position, push and/or transfer patients.
• Move supplies and equipment.
• Considerable amount of standing and walking.
• Must be in good physical condition.
• Minimal exposure to radiation monitored with radiation badges.
• Must be able to identify and differentiate colors.
