The Seattle Times, the Pulitzer Prize-winning news company, is hiring for a Warehouse Driver to join our Operations department. This particular role is imperative to the smooth running of the Traffic/Warehouse team. The duties consist of driving a Class-C box truck daily while also running the forklift and handling ad-hoc duties as needed. Some warehouse experience is strongly preferred. A CDL is preferred but not required.

As the Warehouse Driver, you will be tasked with hauling and organizing newsprint rolls with a clamp truck while preparing rolls for daily laydown or deliveries. Sometimes called a “Paper Handler” (as it's known in the news industry), you will be responsible for loading and unloading of rolls from trucks, stacking inventory, and other tasks as assigned. Successful candidates will be comfortable with the operation of electric and manual pallet trucks, electric roll movers and forklifts, and have prior lift truck experience.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least one year of warehouse and forklift experience.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalency preferred
• Must be forklift efficient on all receiving lifts
• Basic math skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Basic English: reading and writing
• Detail-oriented
• CDL preferred but not required.

Schedule

Varies. Dayshift, with weekend and some holiday coverage needed, depending on team schedule. Work weeks set at 40 hours per week.

This position requires successful completion of a drug screen for controlled substances (excludes cannabis) after an offer is given.
