Warehouse Assistant

FTE/FLSA: 1 FTE (40 hours/week) / Non-Exempt SCHEDULE: M – F: Day hours

SALARY: Grade 101 ($16.00 – $18.80) REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor

LOCATION: 3003 S. Country Club Road

Function: this position is primarily responsible for supporting general warehouse operations, warehouse housekeeping, shipping, and receiving functions as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload and load trucks as needed using standard warehouse power equipment, including electric pallet jack and forklift.
  • Tag and store products according to CFB practices.
  • Assist with monthly inventory as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with all health codes and standards applicable to food acquisition, storage, and distribution.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in all assigned areas daily, including baler area, warehouse area, walk-in coolers, and equipment.
  • Pull and stage orders for pickups and deliveries.
  • Assist in stocking, staging, processing, and distributing food.
  • Operate forklift, rider jack, and electric pallet jack and perform daily tasks in compliance with CFB safety practices.
  • Process inventory transactions in real-time, ensuring constant accuracy.
  • Conduct cycle counts and monthly warehouse inventory in accordance with CFB guidelines.
  • Perform assigned tasks making sure product is distributed based on FEFO and FIFO to ensure maximum distribution at the maximum product quality.
  • Complete daily tasks in compliance with CFB Food Safety written program.
  • Ensure compliance with and monitor all aspects of food safety, including proper handling, sanitation, temperature control, and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with all health codes and CFB standards applicable to food acquisition, storage, and distribution.
  • Cross-train all warehousing areas to provide backup for absences and support based on work volume.
  • Identify and report any safety risk or safety incidents, including product damage, to your supervisor.
  • Recycle cardboard, plastic, wood, shrink wrap, and paper per CFB standards.
  • Work as a team member with all CFB staff and departments.
  • Responsible for accessing, understanding, and following documented procedures in the Food Safety Written Programs
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
