Job Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator gathers and reviews disaster-related information. Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships. Provides technical assistance and support to voluntary agencies. Coordinates with and provides technical assistance to key departments and sections. Manages Voluntary Agency Group staff. This position does not require relocation, but will need to be available for deployment nationwide.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position serves as the Primary Supervisor for a team of direct reports
Job Classification: Part time, call when needed
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble and validate readiness of assigned personnel and equipment
- Brief assigned personnel
- Establish and communicate chain of command, reporting procedures, risk management processes
- Establish a common operating picture with supervisors and subordinates
- Work with the Operations Section to accomplish the incident objectives
- Develop required reports
- Create an open and team-based work environment
- Oversee the ongoing professional development of assigned personnel
- Prepare written reports and other documents
- Communicate orally with others to exchange and clarify information
- Exhibit an understanding of relevant safety and security procedures

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Knowledge of principles and practices of receiving and distribution required
- Ability to team build and lead personnel required
- Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports required
Education and Experience:
- Experience as volunteer preferred
- Experience with Department of Fish and Wildlife preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged exposure to sitting or standing for long periods of time
- Able to work up 12 to 16 hours per day
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position up to and including 14 day deployments
Salary: $52.12 per hour

Pre-employment Requirements:
This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, background check, drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides.
Drug and Alcohol Testing:
To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing during or at the beginning of employment.
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA):
Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.
Emergency Response:
Every Chloeta employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official Duty Station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official Position Description (PD). Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
