At the Virginia IT Agency (VITA), we believe in developing talent and helping to create the leaders of tomorrow. Our Associate Program is designed to provide entry level professionals project and operational based experiences in various VITA business and IT roles. As a VITA Associate, you will receive a blended learning curriculum and one-on-one mentoring in a dynamic work environment. Telework opportunities will be available, but the majority of the program will require onsite work.

What will you do? VITA associates will work in one of the following areas:

IT Supply Chain: The IT Procurement Associate will work with the team to support projects, manage documentation and provide analysis.

Project Management: The Project Management Associate will work in standard project and program management activities for IT projects. The associate will provide support on process improvement initiatives, Project Management (PM) Summit planning, documentation and management.

Data Analytics: The Data Analytics Associate will provide leadership with data analysis for data based decisions which includes data visualization and reporting. This position will aggregate data from various sources and make recommendations to improve the customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  
• Strong interpersonal skills.
  
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, comprehend, and design systems and processes. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and/or team leader.
  
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  
• Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills.
  
• A willingness and desire to serve the Citizen of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Recent graduate (2021 - 2023) from an undergraduate, graduate or two year degree program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a science, technology, engineering, math, statistics, or related field.
  
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Analytics.
  
• Experience in information technology through internships, course work or volunteering. Experience in business management through internships, course work or volunteering. Experience working within PowerBI.

Special Instructions:

The VITA Associate Program is for recent graduates (2021, 2022 or 2023) from an undergraduate, graduate or two year degree program.
