Visual Store Merchandiser - Gainesville Location Job at Merrifield Garden Center

Founded in 1971, Merrifield Garden Center is a family run, full-service garden center, nursery, and landscaping company with three locations in Northern Virginia and an extended family of over 600 employees. We are looking for friendly and reliable people to work as customer service specialists providing visual, decorative and functional shopping displays at our garden center in Gainesville, VA.
Candidates for this position must be personable and responsible. Although gardening experience or an interest in gardening is preferred, it is not required for this position. Some of the primary responsibilities include: • Greeting customers in the store with a positive and friendly attitude • Assisting customers by recommending products • Creating visually stimulating product displays • Educating customers on the products we carry • Restocking products and cleaning up the areas inside the store • Ensuring products are available for the customers Both full time and part time positions are available. Apprentice or intermediate level position.
The ideal candidate must possess the following skills: • Friendly, respectful, professional attitude • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills • Ability to stand or be physically active for hours at a time inside and outside • Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs. • Works well with teams and in a team environment • Willingness to assist in other departments as needed (e.g., Phone Room, Cashier, etc.) • Design background or experience with interior design is a plus • Merchandising experience is a plus as well Evening and weekend availability will be required.
