JOB SUMMARY
Interested in building awareness and affinity for an organization serving nearly 12,000 individuals and families with developmental disabilities each day, while simultaneously breaking down barriers and biases to help create a more equitable world? As the Vice President, Marketing & Communications (Marcom) you will oversee Catalight and its family of companies (FOC) Marcom efforts in support of the long-term strategic direction of the organization. As a key leader, the VP will leverage their experience and expertise to lead the function as a shared service with high stakeholder satisfaction and ROI. Central to this is leading performance-driven marketing campaigns, building affinity through external comms, and supporting employee engagement through inclusive internal comms. This role will be responsible for ensuring all work is on brand, accurate, inclusive, creative, measurable and aligned to the organization’s vision, values, strategy and goals.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills, an ROI mindset and a successful track record for taking a creative and data-driven approach to Marcom, understanding how storytelling and content come to life across all channels – in traditional and non-traditional ways. The VP will execute multiple high impact initiatives simultaneously, operating collaboratively within the matrixed structure to deliver overall organizational goals. This is a highly cross-functional, strategic and hands-on role managing the day-to-day Marcom efforts, while not losing sight of the big picture.
This role will report to the Chief Marketing and Impact Officer and will contribute to long term planning and vision implementation through identification of strategic marketing initiatives, collaboration, prioritization, communication, and evaluation of results, while preserving the FoC’s reputation for integrity and excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
MarCom Strategic Planning & Execution
External Marcom:
- Develop and implement strategic Marcom plans, informed by revenue targets, social justice and equity issues, to inspire current and potential stakeholders to partner with and buy from the organization.
- Develop and maintain best-in-class external Marcom channels including demand generation campaigns, sales/marketing collateral, website content, social media, newsletters, media outreach and email campaigns.
Internal Marcom:
- Propel our internal communications strategy and execution to increase business literacy and create a vibrant culture where staff feel valued, appreciated, and informed, which, in turn, attracts and retains top tier, purpose-driven talent.
- Serve as the communications thought partner across the organization, helping business partners shape their work and their own communications.
Marcom Strategy, Vision and Leadership
- In partnership with the CMIO, the VP will develop and implement a strategic Marcom plan to advance the organizations brand, broaden awareness and affinity for its programs and priorities, and support new revenue generation.
- Advise and serve as a key partner to execute critical internal communications initiatives (e.g., town halls, listening sessions and newsletters), including drafting key communications for and providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support external relations and reputation management to advance the company’s communications objectives through proactive and reactive engagement with media, internal leadership, partners and colleagues.
Marcom Operations
- Ensure Marcom’s day-to-day operations, initiatives and budget are met.
- Ensure Marcom’s shared services are providing great customer service and delivering high-quality work.
- Support the wellbeing of the team, while balancing the needs of the business and our capacity realities.
- Onboard and support external agency partnerships to expand expertise and capacity.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 15+ years of corporate marketing and communications preferred.
- Expertise in leading a team focused on customer service and exceptional work.
- Familiarity working in a highly regulated environment. Preferably healthcare.
- Experience with demand generation marketing activity and sales support.
- Exceptional writing, communications, and presentation skills.
- Strong decision-making capabilities, able to make complex decisions, and manage through ambiguity.
- Superior project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Metrics-driven with a growth mindset that informs strategy and tactical work.
- Experience presenting to customers, executives, board members and the media.
- Highly analytical with an ability to quantify data to drive Marcom strategies and activities.
- Procedure and process oriented with ability and inclination hold others accountable.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Exceptional PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create stage ready presentations.
- Proven people leader with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop a team.
- Prior management experience of at least three direct reports and an overall team of five plus.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
- Able to travel to multiple work sites. Reliable transportation needed.
- Must attend any required training.
