I. Position Description
Reporting directly to the CFO, the VP of Corporate Development is responsible for the company’s financial development. This person will lead the valuation and execution of growth opportunities globally. He/She will be an exceptional leader with hands-on deal experience who loves driving change within an organization and thrives in a fast-paced, analytical environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties of the VP of Corporate Development will include:

• Make decisions about business investments, mergers and acquisitions, and asset divestiture
• Work with high-level executives and board members, and have a strong understanding of the company’s long-term strategic plans
• Communicate strategic plans to other executives and decision-makers at all levels of the organization
• Grow existing business units by increasing revenue and profit margins
• Manage the leasing or buying of office/plant space as needed to accommodate growth requirements
• Establish a network of relationships with investment bankers, private equity decision makers, and business owner operators.
• Oversee mergers and acquisitions
• Analyze the Company’s financial records and operations to identify areas of opportunity, risks and challenges
• Evaluate the Company’s competitive positioning by benchmarking its performance against its competitors based on a recurring analysis of competitors’ publicly available financial information, including earnings calls, 10-Ks and 10-Qs, and analyst reports

II. Performance Objectives*
To create shareholder value as the company grows through mergers, acquisitions, or new ventures including new products or services.
III. Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
10+ years’ experience in Corporate Development, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.
Experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.
Successful track record of completing complex, high-level negotiations for acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, and venture capital investments.
Demonstrated success in growing a company’s business and increasing its profit margins
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high level of knowledge in finance and strategy.
Ability to prioritize and manage several initiatives at one time.
Team orientation and ownership mindset.
IV. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
