About our Anchorage location:
Veterinary Specialists of Alaska, first opened its doors in 1996. As the first multi-specialty veterinary referral practice in Alaska, we continue to have a robust Surgery service and the only Dermatologist in the state. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Hospital Manager in our state-of-the-art hospital. Reporting to the Director of Hospital Operations, this is a great opportunity to take the next step in your Veterinary Management career and be part of something special!

Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
- Partner with the Medical Director, and coach a team of dedicated Leads and Managers to provide leadership, appreciation, support, and feedback for the support team and doctors working in your facility.
- In collaboration with People & Culture and departmental leadership, thoughtfully resolve work-related interpersonal conflicts between staff.
- Ensure that your hospital is operationally sound, secure, and supplied with the necessary equipment and stock of medicine, supplies, and materials.
- Collaborate with all levels of business, operations, and clinical teams to constantly support and enhance patient care, client satisfaction, and employee experience.
- Achieve client satisfaction targets for your hospital.
- Collaboratively align, develop, and execute local targeted strategies and initiatives to meet or exceed organizational goals.
- Develop, articulate, and implement effective plans to connect your facility staff’s daily functions with local and network-wide financial and operational targets.
- Collaborate with recruiting and departmental leadership for the sourcing, assessment, and hiring of clinical and support staff.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications:
- Experience in the veterinary industry required.
- Management or leadership experience required.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician is a plus, but not required.
- College degree and five years of progressively responsible work experience, or the equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Experience managing a facility and multiple direct reports.
- Excellent leadership, management, staff development, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and change management.
- Practical financial acumen with budgetary, staffing & labor costs, P&L, and cost/benefit analyses experience.
- The ability to deliver results, create strategic plans, develop staff, and the desire to develop and progress your own knowledge and skills.
- Schedule flexibility to be available for hospital and team needs.
