Our practice prides itself in providing modern, up to date, advanced technology treatment for pets. We are open 6 days a week Monday through Saturday 9a-6p. What we are looking for?

UNI Pet Clinic is looking for four full time veterinary assistants. We define full time as 5 days a week working open to close. We are looking for 4 candidates that are excited to learn and grow in the veterinary field, who are willing to come to work every day and be as passionate as we are about providing the best care for all of our patients, treating them as our own. No experience needed, we will train the right applicant.

Job description:

-read medical records

-take weight and physical exam including temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate

-gather history from owners and relay to doctor and in medical records

-present treatment plans to owners and explain the treatment

-conduct treatment on pets including but not limited to vaccines, ear cleanings, nail trims, anal gland expressions, bloodwork, radiographs, etc

-discharge patients with correct medication instructions

-veterinary assistants also are required to know and perform occasionally the job of a kennel assistant which includes but is not limited to:

-Ability to lift 50 lbs.

-Required to physically interact with both cats and dogs

-Proper restraint techniques of animals

-Assist our veterinary assistant/technicians with treatment such as giving vaccines, ear cleanings, radiographs, anesthesia etc.

-Required to perform housekeeping duties for example cleaning exam rooms, taking the trash and recycling out, cleaning kennels, sweeping and mopping, laundry etc

-Preparing equipment for the next day such as sterilizing dental and surgical equipment, wrapping surgical pack, etc.

-Prepare medications correctly

-Candidates must be available to work full shift starting at 9am and ending between 6:30p to 7p. Candidates must be available to work BOTH Mondays and Saturdays. Candidates must be able to work with BOTH dogs and cats.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
