Universal EVS Worker - Housekeeping & Laundry Overview:

The Universal EVS Worker must provide clean, sanitary comfortable, orderly, and satisfying surroundings for the residents, employees, and public.

What you’ll do as a Universal EVS Worker - Housekeeping & Laundry:

Universal EVS Worker demands good physical and mental health. This is repetitive, manual labor involving a wide variety of cleaning, and custodial tasks, and the worker must be able to move continuously during work hours.

• Sweep and mop resident rooms, halls, stairways, elevators, and other areas assigned.
• Clean and scour toilets, tubs, and showers in patient tub rooms and all public bathrooms, supplying paper and hand soap as necessary.
• Clean lounge furniture, nursing stations, medicine and treatment rooms, tub and shower rooms, clinic area, and other ancillary and activity areas.
• Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through cleaning of equipment and furnishings.
• Helps sort soiled linen, folds clean linens, and process resident laundry.
• Must clean up human waste and other body fluids, also responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.

For you to be a successful Universal EVS Worker - Housekeeping & Laundry:

• Some knowledge of the materials, equipment, and methods commonly used in cleaning disinfecting, and linen/laundry processing.
• Some experience in the performance of custodial work.
• Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents.
• Ability to read and write in English, follow simple instructions, and work in close quarters with others.
