The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.

**The pay scale posted is the salary or hourly wage range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position during the first year of employment. The posted range does NOT include potential additional types of compensation, such as gratuities, service charges, commissions, or bonuses. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on qualifications and/or experience.

SUMMARY

The Lead Esthetician develops and supervises staff to ensure the highest level of professionalism, gracious service and treatment quality is offered to our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides a unique, positive, memorable experience for our guests.
• Provides a custom spa experience for guests - managing the reservation system, guiding guests through the spa menu, conducting inventories, scheduling staff and selling retail
• Creates a learning environment by supervising all Spa staff and provides ongoing training. Trains and follows the company's safety and emergency procedures.
• Assists Spa Manager in the interviewing, hiring, and developing of staff.
• Develops and schedules outdoor Spa related activities.
• Maintains current credentials and licenses as required by city, county, and state regulatory agencies.
• Ensures the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation for the department. Ensures the facilities are well maintained.
• Listens and responds to guest concerns, verbally and in writing.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with scheduling appointments and using booking software is required. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a plus.
• At least 1-2 prior experience in a similar position in a top-quality spa or hotel is required.
• Experience in dealing with the public is required, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.
• Open availability on nights, weekends (both Saturday and Sunday), and holidays.
• Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
• Ability to be poised under pressure with continued smiles and maintain a highly diplomatic attitude with challenging guests and under stressful circumstances.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift.
