Job Description
The Position is a wastewater treatment plant relief operator and will be primarily responsible for maintenance and repairs at Utley Creek Water Reclamation Facility. Duties will include; performing general preventive and scheduled maintenance; preparing and maintaining records on equipment in asset management software; looking over the treatment plant process and equipment for proper functioning; recordkeeping; and other related duties as assigned. At those times when shift relief is necessary, the primary focus of this position will be to successfully operate the various treatment functions of the wastewater treatment plant.
Regular working hours for this position are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday with on call shift relief duties on a rotating basis. Position requires graduation from high school and experience in the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment, preferably in a wastewater treatment plant and possession of a Grade I Biological Treatment Plant Operator Certification. The Starting salary for Operator I is $50,232. Possession of a grade 3 or 4 wastewater biological certification may be eligible for operator II or operator III pay class.
