PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs, materials and activities for member cooperatives and retail divisions to develop sales, marketing, and support employees within the assigned region/area. Primary focus is on sales training and leadership development within the framework of the System competency model.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leads initiatives to train and develop sales and marketing staff, leadership and manager staff of Retail and Member Cooperatives. Consults with the management teams to define training requirements and determine timelines for implementation. Conducts needs assessments throughout the year with each member cooperative/retail management team in their designated region(s) to identify training/development needs and plan for short- and long-term program requirements.
Facilitates or co-facilitates all sales training, leadership training and employee training in designated area and provide back-up support for other sales trainers throughout the System. Supports the development, implementation, and assessment of learning technology training materials. Uses current technologies in performing job functions, including but not limited to Zoom, Microsoft Teams and a learning management system (LMS). Work with SME as a co-facilitator regarding business acumen training.
Work with System leaders to design, develop and/or deliver advanced sales manager training programs and experienced sales content.
Work with Manager – Member Resources on Succession Planning process for Member or Retail operations.
Administers and coordinates the sales certification and testing programs for GROWMARK, Member Cooperatives, and Retail Divisions within assigned territory.
Coordinates follow up and evaluations with employees to assure new skills and techniques have successfully been implemented on the job. Works directly with member and retail division HR managers to assess, deliver and ensure implementation of knowledge and skills.
May facilitate or support GMK Conference programs created by the Training Department, Member Resources and/or other divisions within GROWMARK Inc.
Work with the Training & Development Department to facilitates/co-facilitate Aspiring Leaders and Supervisor Series in local area.
Works with member cooperative management teams to determine present and future development needs of local personnel. Conducts an annual needs analysis with each management team in assigned territory.
Provides educational leadership to Retail and Member Cooperatives in assigned territory.
Coordinates member cooperative follow up for all employees to assure implementation of new skills and techniques on the job.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides input for the Member Resources budget and administers area within budget parameters.
Advises, develops, and administers programs requested by GROWMARK product divisions and member managements that are supported by Training and Development and Member Resources.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, business, or business-related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of System sales experience or other sales related experience (B2B, insurance, real estate, financial services).
Normally requires a certificate / certification in appropriate ASTD, SHRM, or other nationally recognized coursework to demonstrate advanced training or human resource knowledge.
Requires an understanding and proven experience in planning, developing, presenting, assessing training activities and programs, instructional design, needs analysis, content development, technological proficiency, cultural awareness, negotiation, financial statements, innovation, marketing, and consulting. Must have experience in virtual design, development and facilitation of virtual learning opportunities.
Proven understanding and experience in adult learning program development along with ability to utilize techniques in assessing adult learning program effectiveness.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as well as valid Passport.
Must have the ability to travel independently, frequently, and overnight as necessary, with ability to work extended hours as needed.
Occasionally required to work at varying heights and lift and move 21-50 lbs.
Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK members and retail divisions.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
