MIO’s Finance & Accounting Team is seeking a Trade Operations Analyst to focus primarily on accurate trade capture, valuation of investments, daily pricing, and various reconciliations. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. The Trade Operations Analyst will be expected to work on-site at our Midtown, New York office 2-3 days/week. COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for this position (subject to accommodation for health and religious reasons).

Primary responsibilities

  • Input and validation of listed and OTC trades in the PMS
  • Ensuring downstream flows to Geneva and Arcesium
  • Post-trade processing of OTC and listed securities
  • Review and confirmation of OTC derivatives
  • Reconciliation of trades with counterparties and prime brokers
  • Position and P&L reconciliations between systems
  • Monitoring and processing of all trade lifecycle events
  • Performing the daily pricing process
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting errors in the PMS
  • Setting up new books, new securities, and new users in PMS
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects

Desired Background

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
  • 3-4 years of experience in trade support a hedge fund or investment organization trading floor is ideal; back/middle office experience and a solid understanding of post-trade processing
  • Experience with portfolio management systems is a must; Orchestrade or Calypso preferred
  • Experience using Geneva, Bloomberg terminal, Arcesium, and IVP suite of products is a plus
  • Ability to interact confidently with front office personnel, such as Portfolio Managers; experience working and interacting with developers a plus
  • Strong Excel skills are required
  • Very strong problem-solving capabilities (e.g., issue identification, problem structuring, etc.) combined with attention to detail: have a natural desire to “understand in detail” how things work and pay a great deal of attention to details and processes; candidate should be proactive, diligent, naturally curious, and have critical thinking skills to help identify, prevent, and resolve errors
  • Strong quantitative skills: while the immediate role is not quantitatively heavy, it requires a level of comfort working with data and formulas
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: the candidate needs the ability to exhibit competency and clearly articulate status of reconciliations, breaks, and issues with both the internal team and third-party vendors
  • Team and values orientation: desire to work in a values-oriented environment rather than a profit-driven environment; a team player who places the best interests of the organization and its clients above personal objectives

Certain US states require MIO Partners, Inc. to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the range for new joiners for this role in the United States is $110,000 - $110,000. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual’s assigned office location, experience, and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to MIO’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
