SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains diesel and gas powered off-road equipment including agricultural tractors, construction equipment, stationary engines, various harvesters, and portable irrigation pumps.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform all types of troubleshooting and repairs to powered off-road equipment. This includes gas and diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, A/C systems and computer systems.

Use analyzers and other computer based software to troubleshoot all aspects of vehicle function.

Have training and certification to service and repair A/C systems.

Drive to the field and work independently to do much of the above tasks.

Be prepared to work between 45 and 60 hours per week and possible 12 days on 2 days off as needed to support shop and field operations.

Expect an average number of hours per year to be around 2,400.

All other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

High school education required.

1.5 year Diesel Tech School or equivalent desired.

Licenses, Certificates

Valid current California Drivers' license, with less than two points, required before hire and continuously while employed.

EPA approved 608 Technician Certification for Air Conditioning, desired

The employee is required to be able to perform physical activities that require the use of arms, legs, whole body, such as climbing, crouching, bending, lifting and pushing.

The employee is required to frequently stand, walk, bend and twist at the neck/waist. They must also be able to repetitively use their hands including simple/power grasping and fine manipulation including reaching above/below their shoulders.

The employee must be able to occasionally sit, squat, climb, kneel and crawl.

The employee must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
