The Santa Barbara Thrifty Shopper is seeking an experienced driver to pick up donations from the community and deliver to the thrift store.
Responsibilities:
- Daily trips picking and dropping off donations from donors
- Follow daily routing directions to pick up donations to ensure route is completed before end of shift
- Ability to safely operate company box truck
- Follow procedures for reporting safety concerns and accidents
- Distributes food from the food pantry; decides on food items that will last and make numerous meals.
- Responsible for loading and unloading truck after donation pick up
- Must use personal protective equipment to load and unload donations at all times
- Train, instruct and supervise volunteers during donation pick up
- Responsible for making sure donations are treated courteously and with respect
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of related experience.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License & clean driving record
- One + years of previous driving experience with 26’ box truck or similar vehicle
- Ability to lift, walk, sit, bend, climb, squat, twist and kneel on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to use independent judgment and initiative.
- Must be able to operate standard office computer.
- Maintain accurate and orderly records.
- Communicate effectively in written and oral form.
- Handle public contact and relations effectively.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.04 per hour
