LOCATION

IFG Companies is hiring in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina and on a case-by-case basis in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. Applicants must reside in one of these states to be hired. Remote and flexible work arrangements are provided to all employees based on manager approval.

SALARY RANGE

The expected salary range is $120,000 to $150,000 and subject to change at any time at the discretion of the Company.

POSITION SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

IFG Companies is seeking an experienced, talented, and highly motivated individual that is self-driven and thrives in a fast-paced environment to be a Technical Lead. Work closely with senior leaders and business partners from the IT, Actuarial, Claims and Finance teams, and provide insights into reinsurance data and analytics, with attention on improving data quality, optimizing current processes and mitigating process risk. Technical experience with reinsurance systems is a necessity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

• Ownership of the ProCede reinsurance system:

• Systematic processing of reinsurance ceded premiums and losses
• Ability to work with complex data and systems
• Ensure data integrity is maintained
• FIS vendor relationship management and system issue resolution
• Roadmap of core architecture, full system implementation and oversee system upgrades
• Stakeholder management – Actuary, Finance, Enterprise Risk and other departments

• Serves as the technical subject matter expert in addressing billing/claim queries to and from brokers and reinsurers

• Assist in ceded reinsurance reconciliations with Finance and Actuarial

• Provide technical expertise in reinsurance reporting and reconciliation

• Liaise with Corporate Finance and Actuarial on premium/loss ceding activity and bookings

• Assist reinsurance accounting on reinsurance booking queries

• Supporting other (re)insurance activities and reporting as needed

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

• Excellent reconciliation skills

• Demonstrates and fosters a sense of urgency, strong commitment, and accountability

• Hands-on experience with ProCede or similar industry reinsurance systems

• Ability to analyze complex system requirements and present findings to stakeholders

• Expert in reinsurance knowledge and data structure

• Advanced SQL, Excel and VBA

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or comparable field

• 7-10 years in reinsurance, reinsurance systems and reinsurance accounting expertise

• Reinsurance experience gained through prior employment with insurance companies, reinsurers, system vendors or consulting firms

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Physical demands are considered to be that of an office environment, climate controlled, with minimal physical exertion. This position requires prolonged sitting, ability to utilize a computer and interactions with others in meetings or via phone

• Ability to travel as necessary according to business needs
