We have an immediate need for a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Specialist to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
The Senior MBSE Architect will be expected to work in conjunction with Systems Engineering leadership and Digital Engineering management to establish , execute and deploy MBSE strategies in support of enterprise goals. The candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and providing technical MBSE direction on projects/programs and coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating and development of MBSE training for the Systems Engineering organization. Contacts include interacting with organization and team leadership in addition to customer personnel on related technical matters often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.

Working under minimal general supervision, the Senior Model Based Systems Engineering Architect:
60% - Works in conjunction with Systems Engineering management to establish the Model Based Systems Engineering plans and infrastructure to support programs. Leads the development and definition of system architectures to meet program goals. Establishes system, subsystem, and component requirements for rocket propulsion systems, utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering tools and methodologies. Responsible for derivation, allocation, and documentation of requirements in requirements database and specifications. Coordinates requirements and related specification change management with IPT members. Defines and coordinates requirements verification plans with integrated product team members, plans and manages compliance assessment and certification.
30% - Supports the MBSE initiative leadership to develop necessary infrastructure to support the transformation to a Digital Engineering environment. Responsible for communicating and implementing the MBSE direction across Aerojet Rocketdyne ensuring consistent processes are employed to effectively support contract deliverables. Provides technical leadership, feedback and mentoring to a systems engineering team responsible for implementing MBSE across programs in support of company goals.
5% - Develop and implement MBSE technical training to expand enterprise capabilities and supporting organizational goals. Requires experience with Instructional Systems Design (ISD) utilizing the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, & Evaluate (ADDIE) Model for training development and the formalized delivery of training.
5% - Provide MBSE content in support of enterprise proposals ensuring proposed solutions are aligned with customer requirements and assist in the capture of new business.
Requirements:May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
- Active in-scope DoD Secret Security Clearance, Top Secret preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering to include: requirements and functional analysis, risk management, and product development for rocket propulsion systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading large cross functional teams to implement and develop MBSE architectures and artifacts.
- Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, implementing, and communicating MBSE objectives and goals to all levels of leadership ensuring successful design, development and integration of Rocket propulsion systems.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, developing and integrating digital tools to include: IBM DOORs and Jazz Team Server, Cameo, Teamwork Cloud, and Rhapsody required.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of contract proposals, basis of estimates, and other MBSE artifacts to support the capture of new business.
- Demonstrated experience in the developing MBSE Architectures for DoD and Commercial customers. Experience with DoD ground and air launched systems preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of MBSE languages (UML, SysML, and UPDM), frameworks (DoDAF, UAF, Magic Grid, etc..), and methodologies (OOSEM, Harmony-SE, RUP-SE, OPM)
- Knowledge of Agile Development processes and use Microsoft Office products.
- Advanced degree desirable.
