Location: 4755 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19718
Unit: Surgical Technologist I
Hours: 40 hrs/ wk
Shift: Day/ Evening rotation
Requirements:
- Certifications: BLS,
- Experience: New Grads accepted
- Education: Graduated from an accredited surgical technologist program & High school diploma
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates proficient clinical skills in the scrub role.
- Demonstrates ability to scrub on a wide range of procedures.
- Demonstrates solid knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the handling of instruments/equipment in the OR and aseptic technique.
- Demonstrates openness to learning scrub techniques for new procedures and new instrumentation/equipment
- Provides ongoing feedback to Assistant Nurse Manager concerning preference cards and tray contents.
- Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

Patient Population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric
Cases: The daily caseload includes GU, GYN, OMFS, ENT, Plastics, Ortho, Neuro, Spine, Breast Reconstruction, Cancer, Colorectal, Thoracic, Vascular, Kidney Transplant, and many other services.
Christiana Hospital & Wilmington Hospital is the only Level I trauma service on the East Coast corridor between Philadelphia & Baltimore and has been honored repeatedly as "One of America’s Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report and three-times recognized as a Magnet Status Hospital.
