This professional level position is responsible for ensuring assigned SIS Interviews are completed in a timely, reliable, and respectful manner that is consistent with both agency philosophy and standards as well as consistent with AAIDD standards and validity pertaining to the Supports Intensity Scale tool. The SIS Interviewer is responsible for scheduling, rendering service, and completing any related documentation within the established timelines.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- SIS Interviews
- Participate in SIS training and remain current regarding American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) standards associated with SIS.
- Maintain a minimum reliability status of “Qualified” in IRQRs conducted by an AAIDD recognized SIS Trainer
- Conduct a SIS assessment for each individual receiving services in conjunction with the Person Centered Planning process.
- Provide interpretation and analysis of SIS results.
- Provide consultation on the development of the Individual Plan of Service (IPOS) that incorporates the results of the SIS assessment
- Conducts SIS interviews with two or more respondents (may include self advocates) that are familiar with the individual receiving services.

- All customer related services and reports are delivered within specific timeframes as established by standards of practice

Services are provided to people with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (I/DD), a Serious Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), and/or those who may be Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED).
AVCMHA is looking qualified candidates to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal of this position is to ensure assigned SIS interviews are completed in a timely, reliable, and respectful manner that is consistent with both agency philosophy and standards as well as consistent with American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) standards and validity pertaining to the Supports Intensity Scale tool. This SIS interviewer is responsible for scheduling, rendering service, and completing any related documentation within the established timelines. An additional goal of this position is to provide Community Living Supports to adults with Mental Illness with Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties as needed. This position provides services in Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Iosco Counties with additional responsibilities across the Northern Michigan Regional Entity as needed.
Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout the Board's coverage area and, at times, around different areas of the state. Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Michigan, vehicle insurance as required by Michigan Law, and a good driving record; be a U.S. Citizen or have possession of necessary papers allowing holder to work legally within the United States.
A Pre-Employment Background will be conducted in the following areas: Criminal (Both State and Federal Finger Printing), Driving, Educational and Employment record verifications/inquiries.

- Possession of Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field, or four years of equivalent work experience in a related field
- At least one year experience with individuals that have developmental or intellectual disabilities
- Computer Experience
- Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Michigan, vehicle insurance as required by Michigan Law, and a good driving record.
- U.S. Citizen or possession of necessary papers allowing holder to work legally in the United States.
