Summary:

The Superintendent takes ownership of project performance including safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction. This position is responsible for the direction of substation crews.

Specific duties:

• Present, support and lead by example with a safety and quality orientated attitude.
• Lead crews installing HV substations, including foundations, grounding, steel erection, equipment installation, wiring, testing and commissioning.
• Perform takeoffs, order materials, track inventory, inspect deliveries and communicate with Project Manager to show that all materials are onsite and approved when needed to support the project schedule.
• Responsible for implementing electrical safety requirements including LOTO, arc flash, proper PPE, etc.
• Manage and lead the craft labor force. Monitor work performance and productivity of crafts so project rules, procedures, safety requirements, etc. are maintained.
• Develop work plans, means and methods, and schedule to maximize progress in a safe and timely manner.
• Advise Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, schedule impacts, etc.; assist in circumventing and resolving such problems.
• Responsible for workmanship and conformity with drawings and specifications.
• Responsible for manpower scheduling.
• Accountable for care and use of company fleet, equipment and tools.
• Complete daily and weekly written reporting of work progress and work schedule forecasts.
• Oversee and mentor foremen on technical and managerial guidance.
• Assists Project Manager in providing high-level client interaction and satisfaction with field points of contact.
• Manage subcontractors' safety, quality, schedule, change management, performance and coordination.
• Provide crews with information and correct resources necessary to complete their tasks.
• Understand the budget for specific project tasks and meet budget expectations.
• Resolve complaints and grievances within field workforce in a timely and proactive manner.
• Attract and recruit qualified field personnel, including local labor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Understanding of relay schemes.
• Preference will be given to candidates with electrical, renewable energy, and Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) contract experience.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in a construction supervision role, with experience in high voltage electrical projects.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple assignments and prioritize, as required
• Be a self-starter that enjoys challenges and leading teams.

Anticipated base salary range: $105,000 - $140,000

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.

The construction site environment includes early-stage permitting, development and auditing through finished roads and features. Extensive travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included.
