Overview
- The Welder joins metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond.
Responsibilities
- Operates welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
- Plans work by interpreting welding symbols on blueprints
- Determines welding position and type of metal to be fused
- Selects and sets up welding equipment
- Ensures welds meet standards and specifications
- Uses heat from an electric arc to cut and trim metal objects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college-level training in welding a plus
- AWS certification desired
- Minimum 3 years of experience in welding in an industrial setting
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Team orientation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
