ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

Coordinated Care Alliance of New York (CCA/NY) a Management Service Organization is the parent company of two agencies, Advance Care Alliance of NY (ACA/NY) and LIFEPlan CCO NY. Both ACA/NY and LIFEPlan have been designated as Care Coordination Organizations/Health Homes (CCOs) by New York State. A CCO is a Health Home dedicated to meeting the needs of people with I/DD by providing comprehensive care management and coordination of services. Through CCA/NY, the organizations serve a combined 44,000 members throughout 45 counties in NY State. They share a mission to provide quality services and enhanced advocacy statewide for individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families.

POSITION SUMMARY*

The Staff Accountant manages and monitors all accounts, transactions, statements, balance sheets, and ledgers, ensuring adherence to GAAP, regulatory mandates, and organizational standards. Provides analysis and assistance to facilitate budget forecasting. Provide other support within department or organization as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Assist with budget forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Manage all accounting transactions.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Monthly Bank & Payroll Reconciliations.
  • Treasury Management.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Responding to information requests and assisting with audits
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Provide other support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and four (4) years similar salaried experience

Associate’s Degree in above field and six (6) years similar salaried experience
-or-
HSD/GED and eight (8) years of similar salaried experience

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Ability to operate within a managed care environment under tight regulation by multiple entities.
  • Sufficient proficiency in MS Excel + familiarity or ability to learn other pertinent software applications to perform core responsibilities of position.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adhere to all standards, policies, procedures, and practices, while maintaining a supportive approach with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with NYS OPWDD, DOH, and other applicable regulations/practices a plus.
