Chemonics seeks a Forecasting and Supply Planning (FASP) Associate, to join its Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) unit in support of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program - Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project. The Forecasting and Supply Planning (FASP) Associate works with the systems strengthening team to support the GHSC-PSM project in activities related to quantification of medicines and medical consumables across task orders. GHSC-PSM is the primary vehicle through which the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) procures and provides health commodities for countries receiving U.S. government foreign assistance. GHSC-PSM also provides technical assistance to improve the efficiency, reach, and sustainability of in-country supply chains and is supported with funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, USAID’s family planning and reproductive health program, and USAID’s maternal and child health program.


Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to data-driven management and evaluation of country supply planning performance
  • Contribute technical input to FASP activities, including testing and rollout of new technologies and tools, contributing to conference abstract submission, and supply plan reviews
  • With support from FASP Analysts and Technical Advisors, and in coordination with the Global Supply Chain Team, conduct reviews of in-country forecasting and supply planning, through quarterly supply plan reviews
  • With support from FASP Analysts and Technical Advisors, provide technical assistance in strengthening country forecasting and supply planning. Such assistance typically includes but is not limited to: addressing staff capacity building needs, operational delivery of forecasts and procurement plans, assessing accuracy of reports, and ensuring that reporting and control mechanisms are in place
  • Support FASP software development and maintenance activities, including management of software helpdesk tickets submitted in Jira by country users
  • Provide project management support, such as, leading planning sessions, managing subcontractors, tracking project progress, ensuring projects are on-time, within scope and within budget, and properly documented
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience, in health or supply chain management (forecasting and supply planning preferred)
  • Experience in at least two of the five following health areas preferred: HIV/AIDS, family planning, malaria, zika, and maternal/child health
  • Experience working for USAID programs preferred
  • Experience in data analysis and garnering insights from data. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
  • Experience with database management and business intelligence solutions, such as Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, preferred
  • Experience with the management of information technology systems
  • Critical project management skills, such as contractual compliance, client communication, financial management
  • Communicates clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications; strong cross-culture communication and sensitivity skills
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving and initiative to learn new skills
  • Demonstrated experience following standard practices and procedures, receiving general instructions and supervision, and contributing to projects and initiatives
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; proficiency in French or Portuguese language highly desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $55,760 - $69,700.
