Job Description

As a member of the Information Services Department, the SQL Developer will transform data into meaningful and accurate information that the business can consume. The SQL Developer will be involved in the creation of SQL scripts, stored procedures, mapping of data, data integrations and other data manipulations as required.

Opportunity to learn and grow into the SQL Database Administrator who is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of all databases. As well as involved in the planning, development and adherence to SQL Architecture standards, the databases and the data contained within, as well as troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design, develop, implement, and support new and existing data integration jobs.
• Design and develop DB objects (tables, views, stored procedures, etc).
• Design and develop ad-hoc reports.
• Design and develop SSIS packages.
• Perform Unit Testing.
• Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users.
• Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for change control management.
• Work closely with IT project managers, database programmers, vendors and applications leads.
• Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements.
• Research required data.
• Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements.
• Suggest new queries.
• Develop procedures and scripts for data migration.
• Investigate exceptions and performance issues.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in advanced SQL development tasks, such as complex queries and stored procedures
• 5-7 years of SQL DBA experience and 3 - 5 years of web development experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Experienced in SQL development, development life cycle methodology, and change management.
• Proficient with SSIS integration service.
• Proficient in SQL Management Studio
• DB Design technics
• Must have heavy hands-on SQL development experience.
• Knowledge of any integration platform is plus.
• Ability to work additional hours to support mission-critical production database systems and production deployments is required.
• Proficient in design of SQL objects with optimized performance technique, as well as ability to analyze and suggest DB performance improvements.
• Advanced knowledge of Transact SQL (Procedure, Functions, Exception Handling)
• Ability to perform verification and validation of developed SQL code
• Strong understanding of design and architecture of SQL database, preferably SQL 2019
• Experience with Agile Methodologies preferred
• Experienced in using indexes to speed up the SQL queries
