Cornerstone of Hope, Inc. (COH) provides administrative and staffing services to non-profit organizations in the Western Kentucky Region. As such, COH has an Spiritual Enrichment position available to be assigned to work at Merryman House located in Paducah, KY.

EXPERIENCE

Required Skills

-Advanced knowledge in the domestic violence, cycle of violence, effects of trauma, and trauma-informed care-related areas.

-Proficiency in Microsoft software programs and design programs, and ability to be trained in other software and programs.

-Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain highest levels of confidentiality.

-Professional oral (public speaking) and written communication skills, including correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.

-Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and adapt quickly to changing requirements.

-Skills in resolving problems, planning and organization, exercising independent judgment and attention to detail.

-Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff and external agencies and organizations.

II. Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Services-related field or four years relevant experience; high school diploma required.

III. Preferred Experience

-One year or more of ministry experience preferred.

-One year or more of program management preferred.

-Experience in non-profit/human services preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

The Spiritual Enrichment Specialist is responsible for implementation of the Spiritual Enrichment Program (SEP) for the Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center. The Specialist will foster connections between survivors and their faith, as well as among the MHDCC and the Christian, faith community. Additionally, the Specialist will assist in recruiting churches in the Purchase Region to be part of the program, and will train church leaders on the dynamics of domestic violence and the appropriate community response. The Specialist will support the annual Nehemiah Project as the primary vehicle of training partner churches.

JOB DUTIES

Professionalism

-Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in all actions, both internally and externally in regard to written and verbal communication, behavior and decision-making.

-Equip Church Partners with the tools needed to support agency programs with input from the Dept Director and Program Coordinator.

Initiative

-Take initiative to solve problems, but seeks clarification and additional guidance promptly when needed.

-Provide suggestions for improvement in processes, etc., as needed.

-Assist other departments as required- specifically within the Safety & Operations Department.

-Participates in fundraising efforts as requested.

-Lead clients in mission of the Spiritual Enrichment Program when they voluntarily access the program by:

Seeking out Scripture-based programming options and ensuring the agency offers SEP programming that is purported to aid victims of domestic violence in their journey to healing

and wholeness in collaboration with supervisors and SEP Advisory Board;

-Actively engage Church Partners in the mission of MHDCC by inviting partners to facilitate relevant staff and/or client programming when possible, and through education of partners on the effects of domestic violence/trauma and MHDCC services as necessary;

-Assists with stewardship and tending of program donors;

-Continually develops SEP program in regard to Policy & Procedures, Advisory Board development, and outcome and budget tracking.

Timeliness

-Maintain proper documentation of all client and community partner interactions in accordance with agency and SEP policies.

-Provide department and agency reporting to direct supervisor, Executive Director and program funders as requested.

-Ensure program and other documentation is kept up to date as required to meet all reporting deadlines and in accordance with agency policy.

-Share SEP program calendar(s) and information with Church Partners, staff and clients on a scheduled, consistent basis so the maximum number of parties may plan to attend and benefit.

Knowledgeable

-Complete all required and relevant meetings and trainings to the position, and stay current on domestic violence-related issues and what trauma-informed care and Scripture-based programming entail.

-Recruit, train and retain Church Partners throughout MHDCC service area.

-Train church and lay leaders on domestic violence throughout MHDCC service area.

-Conduct or oversee SEP groups, curriculum and client interaction.

-Provide direct client service via group facilitation and one-on-one mentoring.

-Assist in the informing staff, clients, and Church Partners of programming opportunities at MHDCC.

Integrity

-Protect client confidentiality at all times and strictly adhere to confidentiality in regard to personnel, donor, board member and community partner information. This includes but is not limited to electronic documents, meeting information, etc.

-Commit to work against discrimination due to race, creed, gender, gender identity, marital status, age, or sexual orientation in the field of victims’ services by monitoring all SEP programming and working to ensure it is inclusive to all populations, and that adequate programming is offered that is relevant for under-served populations, specifically.

-Accept personal responsibility.

Productivity & Quality of Work

-Actively evaluate SEP operations to ensure healthy and effective functioning under the direction of the Department's supervisor staff;

-Work to meet grant objectives for the department in measurable ways;

-Assist the Department in the production of the Nehemiah Project;

-Make good use of time and practice strong time management skills.

-Travel as needed.

-Other agency duties as assigned.
