Space Weapons and Tactics Integration (A3TW) Job at Vector CSP

Overview:

Headquarters, Air Combat Command (ACC), Directorate of Operations (A3), Flight Operations Division (A3T) at Langley Air Force Base, VA is responsible for the combat readiness and training of the Combat Air Forces (CAF). ACC/A3T provides the operational expertise required to meet current and future needs of the CAF by developing, coordinating, and publishing command guidance for all aspects of CAF fighter aircrew training. A key component of upholding HQ ACC's mission is the Weapons and Tactics (A3TW) support task. A3TW provides Air Force level military munitions for aircrew Test & Training munitions/missile requirements and coordinates with CAF, Mobility Air Force (MAF), and Air Reserve Component (ARC) lead on necessary policies, regulations, directions, programs, doctrine, and procedures for the establishment of lead command aircrew munitions management responsibilities.

Job Summary:

Supports the integration of the space domain into ACC CAF platform planning, training, operational execution, and debriefing, and other duties as assigned. Occasional travel may be required.

Requirement: Top Secret Clearance with SAP eligibility is required

Education and Experience:

5 years of experience in space systems and integration with ground- and air-based multiple domains

Essential Duties:

  • Provide survivability and vulnerability determinations and strategy recommendations for AF operations essential for the success of missions in the strategic, operational and tactical levels of war. These efforts include space threat assessment, requirements development, operational training, studies and mission analyses, planning/programming analyses, concept development, integration analysis, policy and doctrine analysis to support Space Situational Awareness, Command and Control, Space Superiority, Missile Warning/Missile Detection, Position Navigation and Timing (PNT), Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM).
  • Plan for and respond to the requirements and interdependencies of the ACC/A2/3/6 functional communities as well as the specific needs of the USAF Weapons School and the USAF Warfare Center. Research and prepare appropriate documents (including responses to FOIA requests), presentations, and spreadsheets.
  • Provide expertise to support the Space Superiority Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) syllabus development, operational testing/WSEP, space test & training range management, virtual space

environments and training systems, document creation (e.g., AFTTP 3-1.XXXX, ATRGs, etc) and advanced warfighter development (e.g., Space Flag, WIC, Space Aggressor events, Weapons and Tactics (WEPTAC)).

  • Support space capabilities integration into tactics development and analysis.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to FAMs, Weapon System Teams (WSTs), and other ACC staff organizations by reviewing and providing recommendations regarding the Organizing, Training, Equipping, and Integrating Space Operational forces. Support COCOM requirements by providing technical expertise and recommendations for the operations, maintenance and sustainment of ACC operational forces and capabilities.
  • Review and provide space capabilities technical expertise and recommendations for the development and integration of ACC C2 operations policies and procedures as it relates to all AOCs, the sharing of unclassified and classified information, shared technology upgrades, and coordination with the operational level space C2 centers for information requests.
  • Author concept of operations documents (as identified by the Government) at all classification levels for any space C2 system or any unit's mission utilizing space C2 systems.
  • Assist the Government by reviewing and providing technical expertise and recommendations that support policy, guidance and direction to subordinate echelons regarding ACC C2 operations, both in place and planned.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations that support the development of classified unit C2 procedures using classified systems to include Special Access Program (SAP) systems. This includes the operating procedures, authority to use, timeline for employment and identification of authorized users.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations with the fielding of any systems that are incorporated into the AOC Weapons System baseline through evaluations of test plans, upgrade plans, schedules and operations plans to ensure compatibility with AF Space Command (AFSPC) policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations for sustainment funding actions and provide recommendations for upgrade priorities for AOC upgrades.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations for the schedules, operations and TTP development for unique mission equipment that supplements AOC Weapon System baselines requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations with the fielding and upgrades of any tool supporting navigation warfare (NAVWAR) applications (e.g., the Global Positioning System Information and Navigation Tool or GIANT umbrella within the DoD through evaluations of test plans, upgrade plans, schedules and operations plans to ensure compliance with AFSPC policies and procedures.
  • Document and explain operational needs in the development of new C2 capabilities to internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain awareness of future space programs and be able to articulate/advocate for program integration with current/future ACC programs.
  • Provide advisory input to ensure appropriate protocols (e.g, DMO compliant) are inplace for interoperability across the entire ACC portfolio of systems. Review and analyze operational requirements, external requests, taskings, and changes to guidance documents (AFIs, ACC Instructions (ACCIs), etc.) to determine impacts to operations, provide recommendations for resolution, and ensure interoperability and optimal workflow/compliance.
  • Assist in the accountability records/receipts for classified material to include transfer and destruction of material.
  • Provide documents/information in government format but not limited to such as Staff Summary Sheets (SSS) and Point Papers (PPs) in accordance with the most recent versions of the Air Force Handbook and or MAJCOM guidance.
