SOUS CHEF - Thompson Hotel Job at THOMPSON HOLLYWOOD HOTEL
The Thompson Hollywood is looking for a Sous Chef!
This position reports to the Executive Sous Chef to manage daily kitchen activities for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, potentially working in various kitchens within the hotel. The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Sous Chef with overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, mentoring and fostering cooks' professional growth, and managing inventory.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists Executive Sous Chef in supervision of back of house including receiving and storing items, prepping food, and cooking on the line.
- Assists Executive Sous Chef in execution of new menu concepts: developing, testing, and costing out new menu items.
- Assists Executive Sous Chef in oversight of all methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timeliness of food preparation; control food and usage to minimize waste.
- Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with the restaurant team.
- Maintains accurate and detailed production records.
- Assists Executive Sous Chef in recruitment of Kitchen talent.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Sous Chef.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a kitchen manager position.
- ServSafe California Food Handlers Card for Managers required.
- Experience in fine dining preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with, or without assistance.
- Must show proof of covid vaccination.
