Job Location: Winston Salem, NC; Open to US Remote Candidates

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sourcing Specialist to help support the member experience and events team by researching, sourcing and contracting destinations, venues and activities for regional meetings, incentive trips, conventions, and tradeshows. The Sourcing Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert as it relates to destinations, hotels and events and will develop creative and innovative solutions on budget. The Sourcing Specialist will work with internal stakeholders to negotiate critical program components from the initial request, budgeting and contract completion.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Researching, sourcing and contracting assigned events according to stakeholder requirements and budget.
  • Create and track RFPs related to assigned events
  • Develop initial budgets for assigned events
  • Take responsibility for project deliverables and deadlines
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external vendors, members, team members and partners.
  • Travel to select events as needed
  • Research industry events to participate in to maximize exposure with the target audience in creative and cost-effective ways.

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing and contracting events, including experience with large-scale events/trade shows
  • In-person event experience with large budgets, multiple locations, and complex logistics a must
  • Excellent negotiation skills in regards to program design and contracting.
  • Knowledge of legal terms and conditions as it relates to 3rd party contract such as hotel, DMC, Audio Visual Suppliers, etc.
  • Energized by working in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities and the need to maintain strong focus on execution and results.
  • Strong cross-functional people management and collaboration skills, and the ability to build buy-in.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to find the highest-impact approach and prioritize accordingly

Work Environment:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
