Smiths Medical, now part of ICU Medical is currently hiring a Software Engineer II, Scrum Master in Minneapolis, MN.
This mixed role will serve as Scrum Master for a software team executing Agile development of Server and PC-based medical device software applications. In addition, this role will serve as a Software Engineer II contributing to the software development effort for approximately 30% of the time. This mixed role is an opportunity for a mid-level software professional to further develop both leadership/project management and software engineering skills in a welcoming and innovative environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Scrum Master (~70%):
- Facilitate regular scrum events.
- Reinforce scrum discipline in practices.
- Establish metrics for project tracking used to communicate progress to leadership.
- Manage prioritization of scope with the product owner and deliverables that support business goals.
- Guide team to a continued culture of self-organization and improved work organization.
- Form partnerships across software teams regarding scrum practices.
- Identify opportunities for process and project execution improvement opportunities.
- Remove impediments and guide the team on proactive steps to drive work to done.
Software Engineer II (~30%):
- Partner with leadership to implement robust metric tracking tools.
- Programming to customize workflow tools such as Azure DevOps (previously TFS).
- Scripting to automate manual processes.
- Duties may also include:
- Implementing software solutions: code, unit test, debug, troubleshoot,
- Issue root cause analysis,
- Implement software infrastructure updates,
- Participate in software build, branch, merge, continuous integration strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).
- Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.

THE INDIVIDUAL
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar required.
- Scrum Master certification – Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in software engineering/software engineering and project management.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in C# software development or related object oriented programming languages.
- Experience leading Agile teams.
- Workflow tool experience, examples: Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps, Jira.
- Experience with Version Control, Change Management Tools, and Processes (TFS, GIT, DOORs, peer review processes, or related).
- Regulated environment experience is a plus.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
