Software Engineer Job at Clack Corp
Summary: Design, analyze and develop new and existing products related to the water treatment industry. The main focus is on software (i.e., requirements/definition/analysis, software design/implementation, software verification/validation). Also provides engineering support to Research & Development and production areas where applicable.
- Research, design, develop and test electronic devices for water treatment products.
- Consult with customers and document software product performance specifications.
- Set operational specifications and develop software requirements.
- Write software code to achieve requirements of software product performance specifications.
- Create and perform procedures for testing code to ensure product specifications are met.
- Assist in establishing and evaluating compliance with product acceptability requirements.
- Perform verification and validation on products.
- Resolve issues for products that do not meet acceptability requirements.
- Effectively communicate any electronics issues with management, sales, production staff, purchasing, engineering, accounting, suppliers, and customers.
- Compose technical procedures, instructions, and reports.
- Evaluate test results of pilot models and recommend changes to eliminate malfunctions.
- Participate on cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems. Ensure continuous on-going improvement of processes and methods.
- Evaluate and suggest changes to products, production procedures, inspection procedures and BOM’s to increase production, improve quality, improve reliability, decrease costs, and ensure safer working environments.
- Work with outside vendors to obtain quotes, initiate purchase orders, and implement BOM’s and software into production
- Assist in overseeing the outsourcing of software and manufacture of PCB’s for product lines.
- Compiles and maintains proper organization of files, product specifications and projects.
- Act as a technical resource assisting in addressing and resolving problems with product.
- Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Follow and comply with all quality, safety, and work rules.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- One to three years of related work experience.
- Experience in programming languages (C/C++)
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects independently. Self-starter.
- Ability to create/read: schematics, engineering drawings, technical procedures, instructions, reports, and other documents.
- Knowledge of microprocessors and micro controllers.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of electronic circuit board manufacturing processes.
- Ability to use and operate electronics equipment, measuring instruments, laboratory equipment, basic shop equipment and tools.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC’s a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude a plus.
- Proficient computer skills Windows, e-mail, Word, and Excel.
- Extended sitting and standing. Able to lift 40 pounds.
